Shusuke Ogihara sees Las Vegas
as fertile ground for Japanese companies to do
business in the United States, and has written a
book along those lines, dispelling myths about a
city that captivates and intrigues 500,000
Japanese tourists a year.
"There
is not true information available in Japan about
the business climate in Las Vegas," said
Ogihara, president and chief executive officer of
Nevada Japan Conference Inc., a business
development consultancy he formed in 1998.
"Their
knowledge is provided by tour guides and
television or movies. If we had Japanese bankers
here or securities companies with offices in Las
Vegas, these people would be speaking to Japan
main island, so true information would be
available in Japan."
